Uncharted 2 is a good game. But for me it's not as good as the original Uncharted. I agree with some of this bloggers gripes about the game. I believe that the 2nd one simply put tried to hard to emulate big budget Summer holleywood flicks. While I really appreciate the effort, production values and incredible voice work it just didn't wow me. Gameplay wise Among Thieves really hit the game out the park with better mechanics, tougher puzzles and had very good pacing.

I got to say a lot have changed between 2006 and 2010 for the ps3. I still remember the fake stories on how sony was going to scrap the Ps3 in 2007 in favor of a "new ps3.5". I'm glad to see all 3 main consoles doing so well and helping video games as an entertainment medium grow.

SF2 was the original "COD,HALO,Madden" before those games came out. Back in the early/mid 90's 4 versions of SF2 came out in a span of about 2 and a half years. Either way though this is a different situation since the next few games coming out is going to be pretty different.

The guy who wrote this is obviously not in touch with the current fashion trend. I live in new york and how they have the kid dressing is exactly what's in chic right now. And as a black man I don't think it's racist or stupid or whatever. However I do find the kid annoying more or less except for this commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I completely agree, Mirrors Edge is one of my top 5 favorite games of this gen. I feel a little sad that the author (and most gamers) didn't get the first person perspective for a platformer that ME brought to the table. Mirrors Edge coontrols were pretty spot on in my opinion and I really fell in love with the time trials & the ambient soundtrack for the game. Hell in my first playthrough I turned off both blue dot and the red hints for immersions sake. Hopefully a Mirrors Edge 2 wil...

I get where you're coming from, I'm a huge fan of MGS myself even if I do come off a bit lackadaisical. I know some of you guys are afraid of change if Kojima were to hand over the keys to his reknown franchise but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be in the passenger seat. I don't think it would be the demise of the series but more of a change, for me the MGS saga has ended. Big Boss, Snake, Hal, Raiden, The Boss, The Colonel and every one else I haven't mentioned had the...

Rockleex that is exactly what I mean. It's obvious the man wants to create something new and fresh and as a creative artist he needs to spread his wings. He shouldn't have to shoehorn some of his idea's into a MGS game, I remember in a MGS3 interview he wanted a play mechanic in the game that if you died once you'd have to start all over again from the beginning of the story. However eventually he deemed it too difficult and not "Metal Gear Solid" material. I'm s...

Personally I think they should just let Kojima hand the reigns over to the "young guns" while advising them here and there as far as the universe goes. That way he can create a new IP or whatever other new direction it seems he wants to go in.

As I get older and inevitably play less video games I also buy less video games. Games that tend to score lower than a 6 or have certain flaws (short, frustrating controls etc) their priority gets shifted to the bottom of my "to buy" list. I'll still eventually buy those same games albeit later this gen when their prices have dropped. Hell there's been games I want to play (GoW3, Heavy Rain) but can't because the lack of time and expendable income.

Bad comparison. I don't listen to hip hop anymore (haven't since I was about 16) and I remember when Kanye first came out he was actually making interesting music. Spaceship, Jesus Walks, Diamonds from Sierra Leon and a few others but then he got a huge ego trip. That along with the general direction that mainstream music has tooken in the last few years has turned to crap. Kojima on the on the other hand seems to keep his works fresh and of course doesn't have a ego and he's ...

I liked Among Thieves but I prefer Drakes Fortune. I liked the story, characters and dialog more in U1 compared to the predictable Summer Action Blockbuster style in U2. However the gameplay was much improved in 2. Hopefully 3 will have the narrative, character portrayal, story, and dialog of Drakes Fortune while having the set pieces, dynamics, gunplay, puzzles and controls of Among Thieves.

As for the whole art debate games can definitely indeed be art but it's in the ...

From the little I've heard about Human Revolution my anticipation has raised quite a bit. Seeing as Deus Ex is my second favorite game of all time and what I consider to be THE best game I've ever played in my life I'm trying to really keep my expectations low. However all these good writeups from fellow huge fans of the original have my optimism meter rising.

These guys are doing some very unique things on the digital game side of gaming. I hope they continue to flourish in this industry and I thoroughly look forward to this and their future works.

Single player here as well. I play games for the story/characters and gameplay experience. With the majority of online games these days they are to samey and offer little variety or intrigue to me. I love single player games and I can get enthralled in a single player experience far easier than multiplayer, always have and probably always will.

Though I do find it... Peculiar that all the great multiplayer games I've played were multiplayer only (TF2 & Warhawk) though. I've ...

I wouldn't say Blazblue is the best fighting game this generation seeing as I have yet to play KoF12 (which I hear has a excellent fighting engine despite it's terrible netcode) and I haven't touched Tekken 6. I do like Blazblue though just because it's engine is so different and fluid, it reminds me of third strike in a few ways. It's definitely quite a damn good fighting game but best this gen? I don't know about that.

I wouldn't call SF4 the best this generation either but I'...

Sounds like a hell of a idea if you ask me. World War 2 era MGS spinoff featuring The Boss as the main character with a nice helping of the Sorrow sounds highly intriguing.

I agree with you firelogic that would have been a great closing for snakes life. As much as he doesn't think much of himself he still continues to do right by what was best for humanity which really sets him apart from his brothers (except solidus in a strange way) and his dad.

Also if I remember correctly before the big reveal at the end Snake would have had to live by himself or something like that because of the disease. I think offing himself for the greater good would have ...

"The story of legends", in that sense you are correct. Immortal legends on the other hand, no. I don't know why but I always liked the idea of the hero having this grand bowing to wrap up their legacy. It's usually not a matter of how they died but the legacy they left behind during their life.

Besides look at The Boss. Her death is how legends are supposed to end in my opinion.
